Collaborations and Strategic Alliances

At YTFG, we recognize that no single organization can bring about the level of change needed to improve the lives of disconnected youth or change the public systems that serve them. We believe that YTFG can generate change only through helping to establish common goals, shared strategies, and enhanced coordination across organizations and sectors.

 

The following organizations are playing critical roles as hubs in the field, accelerating communication, creating mechanisms to coordinate activities, and providing collaborative leadership at the national, state, and local levels:


The Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP)

The Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) is a national nonprofit that works to improve the lives of low-income people. CLASP’s mission is to improve the economic security, educational and workforce prospects, and family stability of low-income parents, children, and youth and to secure equal justice for all. To carry out this mission, CLASP conducts cutting-edge research, provides insightful policy analysis, and offers information and technical assistance on a range of equal justice issues. Forum for Youth Investment (the Forum)

The Forum for Youth Investment is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to helping communities and the nation make sure all young people are Ready by 21™ — ready for college, work and life. This goal requires that young people have the supports, opportunities and services needed to prosper and contribute where they live, learn, work, play and make a difference. The Forum provides youth and adult leaders with the information, technical assistance, training, network support and partnership opportunities needed to increase the quality and quantity of youth investment and youth involvement.

 

The National League of Cities

The National League of Cities serves as a national resource and advocates for over 1,600 member cities and towns of all sizes and for 49 state municipal leagues whose member municipalities total more than 18,000. NLC members also include over 70 Associate Members — non-profit and for-profit organizations with a need to know what’s going on in the nation’s cities and towns. And, NLC offers a Corporate Partners Program that allows organizations to support the NLC in strengthening local government, encouraging economic competitiveness, and promoting corporate civic engagement.
