Membership and Work Groups The YTFG is not a grantmaking entity. All grants or investments are made by individual member foundations. However, the members of YTFG work together to enable collective action toward achieving the mission that vulnerable youth become “Connected by 25.” The YTFG is open to involvement by foundations at two levels: Action Group and General Membership. Grantmakers with the highest level of involvement belong to the Action Group. The Action Group convenes twice yearly to develop and implement joint efforts aimed at advancing the common mission. Members of the Action Group are involved in work groups based on shared interests. There are presently three work groups – one each focused on youth served by the foster care system, youth in the juvenile or adult criminal justice system, and youth who have dropped out of school or are at risk of dropping out. Grantmakers who do not want to be actively involved in YTFG work groups and convenings can participate as part of the General Membership. These grantmakers receive electronic newsletters and updates, early access to YTFG reports, peer networking opportunities, and other information on vulnerable youth issues. YTFG welcomes representatives of all foundations and corporate giving programs interested in supporting vulnerable youth between the ages of 14 and 24. If you would like to join YTFG as a member, please contact membershipservices@ytfg.org for more information. |
